What to Expect at Your First Visit
We are excited that you have chosen Walton Orthodontics for your orthodontic care and we welcome you to our office! Our patient coordinators, Kelly or Jane, will greet you when you arrive and will assist you in filling out any necessary paperwork.
Prior to your first visit at Walton Orthodontics, it would be very helpful for you to bring any panoramic dental x-rays that you have had taken within the past six months, along with your insurance card, so that our knowledgeable team can give you an accurate estimate of your costs.
We realize that each patient will have a different course of treatment and therefore we will work together to create a personalized treatment plan especially for you. The initial visit will include a thorough orthodontic exam and a discussion of possible treatment options and costs. The first visit usually lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
The initial orthodontic exam will allow our team to learn what issues will need to be addressed during your treatment, such as;
- Is the treatment needed immediately or should be delayed based on other orthodontic factors?
- What are the best treatment options for your orthodontic issues?
- Should permanent teeth be removed to facilitate treatment?
- What is the treatment timeline?
- How much will the treatment cost and what are the payment options?
If orthodontic treatment is required, our staff will assist you in making an appointment to obtain diagnostic records, which consist of; digital photographs and in-depth measurements of the face and teeth and specialized radiographs called a Panorex and a cephalogram.
Additionally, our treatment coordinator will discuss fees and payment options during the initial exam. We offer several different payment plans to work with your budget and we also accept several different types of insurance.
You can be assured that your orthodontic investment will include the following; orthodontic records, cost of appliances related to your treatment plan and one set of final retainers provided upon completion of treatment.
